Back in stock at Sonnyboy's after a long absence, The Hohner Special 20 is a very popular choice for both new and experienced players.
The world's first diatonic harmonica with projecting mouthpiece and recessed reed plates ensures airtightness, water resistance and playing comfort.
The modified Just tuning and closed covers offers a dark rounded sound that has inspired professional musicians for decades.
Initially we will just be stocking the most popular keys - C, D, G, A and Bb - but if you want more we can get them!
Hohner News, February 2025! - Hohner recently announced that they are updating some of their models - including the Special 20. Some of that change relates to a new style of packaging (it is much smaller) and a new style 'flip-lid' box, alongside new 'Torx' screws holding the cover plates in position (new photo's showing new packaging and torx screw below). These changes are S.L.O.W.L.Y being introduced, but it may be 2027 before all new versions are available, with some keys way ahead of others. I will make a note on here as the new versions arrive. There is no difference in the retail price.
Update, October 2025: Ab, A, C, Eb and G are all now in the new style.
