The Trochilus range has really been popular over the last year, so I have now added the final 'link in the chain' - the Pop tuned model - to my existing stock of diatonic and chromatic harmonicas.
So, I hear you cry, what is Pop tuning?
Hmm good question, and one I'm still trying to get my head around for a good 'laymans' (ie one that makes sense to me) reply. In simple terms, with the button out this plays like a paddy richter tuned harp (just 3 blow raised one whole step), but it isn't a straight one step change when you push the button in. It seems to say two conflicting things on JDR's website, but I have included the note layout from JDR, which will hopefully make sense, until I get a chance to play with it...
Physically, this version of the Trochilus is almost identical to the other models, weighing in at 128g, and 135mm x 37mm x 22mm, with chrome-plated copper cover plates, brass reed plates and phosphor bronze reeds. The different versions come with different colour ABS resin combs - this one is red, the standard richter tuned model is blue, while the chromatic is yellow.
